- 14 oz can of condensed milk
- 2 tbspn ghee (or unsalted butter)
- 2 cups milk powder
- saffron, a pinch
- 1/2 tspn cardamom, powdered
- 1/2 tspn nutmeg, powdered
- pistachio, finely chopped
- 1 tbspn ghee for shaping pedas (or unsalted butter)
Preparation
- Chop the pistachios.
- Keep a small bowl with butter aside.
- Warm the condensed milk and butter in a microwave for 1 minute and stir well.
- Repeat step above till the mix is spluttering hot.
- Take out of the microwave and add saffron, cardamom and nutmeg.
- Stir in the milk powder till the paste is homogenous.
- Let cool for 5 minutes.
- Grease your palm with butter and shape a tablespoon of the paste into a ball.
- Indent on top with finger, and place on a glass or steel plate.
- Place finely chopped pistachio on the indent of each peda. (Almonds or cardamom can be used in place of pistachios.)
